Midday | International Bathing Beach
Walking and playing in the sand, the sand is soft. For lunch, we had mackerel dumplings nearby; the fish was tender and sweet. The midday sun is very strong, so don't stay on the beach for too long.

Afternoon|Huanhai Road, Maotoushan No. 2 Viewing Platform, Half Moon Bay
Take a taxi or ride an electric bike along Huanhai Road. Maotoushan No. 2 Viewing Platform offers the best view, with the jelly-like blue sea stretching to the horizon. Half Moon Bay is quiet and less crowded, making it a good place to watch the sunrise. The rocks are slippery, so do not climb them.

Evening | Yuehai Park, Weihai Park
Visit the white lighthouse, seaweed houses, and the large landmark framed in Weihai Park—all free of charge. Take a stroll along the seaside promenade and enjoy the sea breeze.

Evening|Korean Music Street
After dark, it gets lively, full of Korean food and snack stalls. I ate stir-fried rice cakes, Korean fried chicken, and also tried the local snack Weihai fried noodles, which were full of sweet and spicy flavor.

Reminders for the Day:
Even on cloudy days, the UV rays are very strong at the beach, so be sure to reapply sunscreen; the sea breeze cools down in the evening, so bring a light jacket. The coastal road for electric bikes has many curves and is windy, so drive slowly.
Day 2: Liugong Island Cultural Day | Sino-Japanese War History, Boat Trip
Highlights: Historical sites, physically demanding, book your boat tickets in advance
Important Reminder: Boat tickets to Liugong Island must be booked online in advance. Ferry services will be suspended in case of strong winds or fog. Remember the last ferry time; missing it will leave you stranded on the island and unable to return to the city. Prices on the island are relatively high, so it's recommended to bring your own water and snacks.
Morning | Take the early boat to Liugong Island
You can also see seagulls on the boat trip. Visit the Sino-Japanese War Museum, the Beiyang Naval Headquarters, and the Donghong Fort on the island. It's recommended to rent an audio guide for a better understanding of this history.
The island's coastline is also beautiful.

Lunch | A simple meal on the island
The seafood restaurants on the island are quite expensive, so I opted for a simple bento box instead of a proper meal.
Afternoon | Continue exploring the island, then take the boat off the island on time. Back in the city, you can visit Haiyuan Park, where the old fishing boats and piers create a retro atmosphere.
Evening | Enjoy a seafood feast in the city. Find a local restaurant with clearly marked prices and order sea cucumber rice, steamed Rushan oysters, and seafood dumpling soup. The sea cucumbers are crisp and crunchy, and the broth is incredibly fragrant when mixed with rice; the oysters are plump and tender.

Tips for eating seafood: Ask about the net weight and processing fee before ordering; don't trust roadside vendors who solicit customers; carry stomach medicine if you have a sensitive stomach.
**Day 3: Rongcheng East Route One-Day Trip | Naxianghai Diamond Beach, Bruvius Shipwreck** **Highlights:** Thousand-mile mountain and sea highway, cinematic shipwreck, white sand beach, same-day round trip to the city. **Transportation Notes:** The journey from the city to Rongcheng is quite long; driving or hiring a car is the most comfortable option. Taxis are expensive, public transportation is infrequent, and finding a return ride is difficult. It is recommended to book your return vehicle in advance. Bruvius Shipwreck admission is free; absolutely do not climb on the hull, and stay away from the reef area during high tide. **Morning:** Depart for Naxianghai **Arrive at Naxianghai Diamond Beach.** The sand here is white, the bay is wide, and you can stroll, wade in the water, and see the white windmills along the beach. This area is much less crowded than the city's bathing beaches, perfect for relaxing.
Lunch | Lunch at a fisherman's restaurant near Na Xiang Hai
Try seafood noodles and experience the flavors of a fishing village.
Afternoon | The Bruvis Shipwreck
It's recommended to come around 3 or 4 pm when the light is perfect for taking photos. This stranded giant ship has a desolate, cinematic feel. At low tide, you can walk close to the rocks, but at high tide, be sure to retreat immediately as the rocks are sharp and slippery; be careful.
If you have enough time, you can stop by Jinshiwan Art Park to see the rows of seaweed houses, which have a fairytale-like feel.
Evening | After enjoying the sunset at the beach, start your return trip to Weihai city.
A few reminders for the day:
You'll be outdoors all day, so bring a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses; the wind is stronger at Rongcheng beach, so don't forget your jacket. Do not attempt to climb shipwrecks, as you can easily get cut.
Day 4: Slow city tour, beachcombing, souvenir shopping, and preparation for the return trip. Highlights: Relaxation, catching up on missed attractions, and shopping for local specialties. First thing to do if you want to go beachcombing: Always check the tide times. Only go at low tide; at high tide, immediately evacuate the rocks. Safety first. Morning | Xiaoshi Island Experience beachcombing at low tide. You can collect small seashells and crabs. Be sure to wear non-slip shoes, not regular flip-flops. Even without beachcombing, Xiaoshi Island itself is a great spot for ocean views. If you want to watch the sunrise, you can go to Half Moon Bay early in the morning to watch the sunrise over the sea, then return to the hotel for a nap.
Lunch | One last seafood meal in the city
Have one last mackerel dumpling or seafood noodle soup, and say a proper goodbye to Weihai.
Afternoon | Stroll around Happiness Gate and Weihai Port Park, buying souvenirs.
I didn't buy dried seafood around the tourist attractions; the prices there were inflated. Instead, I went to a large local supermarket to buy souvenirs like dried squid and dried fish.
If time allows, check the return train schedule and take a walk along the artsy old street on Xinwei Road before packing up and leaving.
Practical Tips for a Four-Day Trip
Transportation: Weihai has no subway; taxis are convenient in the city center. Rongcheng's Naxianghai and Bruvis are far from the city center, and a day trip there can be physically demanding. For group travel, hiring a car is recommended for convenience.
Clothing: The temperature difference between day and night at the beach is significant; even in the height of summer, the sea breeze can be chilly at night, so a light jacket is essential. High heels are prohibited in rocky areas; non-slip beach shoes are preferred.
Seafood Dining: Prioritize shops with clearly marked prices. Avoid pairing seafood with large amounts of iced drinks; those with sensitive stomachs should consume with caution.
Island Attractions: Liugong Island and Jiming Island may experience ferry cancellations due to wind and waves; be sure to check ferry schedules before departure.
Safety for beachcombing: Always refer to the tide tables. Leave immediately when the tide is high, and do not venture into the deeper parts of the reefs.
Travel mindset: Weihai is suitable for slow travel. Don't fill every day with sightseeing. Spending time sitting by the sea, feeling the breeze, and watching the ocean is what makes this city so charming.
